Leica Galerie Salzburg presents the exhibition “DAMALS / HEUTE“ in cooperation with Salzburger Advent Singing
In cooperation with the Salzburger Advent Singing event (1 to 17 December 2017), Leica Galerie Salzburg is presenting the exhibition “DAMALS / HEUTE“ in the entrance foyer to the Großes Festspielhaus. The photographs by Oskar Anrather offer impressive insights into the bygone years of the Salzburger Advent Singing performance, and are complemented by current art photographs by Richard Schabetsberger.
Oskar Anrather, who passed away last year, was the in-house photographer for Salzburger Advent Singing from 1959 to 1985. Thanks to his intricate knowledge of the performances, he was able to capture their core artistic messages. His photographs are an impressive and emotional reflection of the spirit of Salzburger Advent Singing. Quite unlike anyone else, he knew how to press the shutter precisely at the right moment.
The exhibition is supplemented by art photography by Richard Schabetsberger, whose images have won several awards, including in the competitions I Shot It, Terra Mater and Kurier His work has also been published in numerous print and online media.
The exhibition “DAMALS / HEUTE“ is open for one hour before each performance of Salzburger Advent Singing from 1 to 17 December 2017. Works by Oskar Anrather can also be viewed at the Leica Galerie Salzburg in the exhibition ‘My Salzburg. My Life.’, which runs until 13 January 2018.
