Sandra Sczesny appointed Global Director for Marketing and Communications at Leica Camera AG

With effect from 1 April, 2015, Sandra Sczesny (44) will be assuming the newly created position of Global Director for Marketing and Communications at Leica Camera AG in Wetzlar.In this role, she will hold responsibility for the areas ‘Campaigning & Media’, ‘Brand Partnerships’, ’Events and Fairs’ and ‘Leitz Park and Archive’, and will report to Oliver Kaltner, who assumes his position as new chairman of the Executive Board of Leica Camera AG on 1 April.

Sandra Sczesny has been at the company since July 2010 and therefore possesses intimate knowledge of Leica and the Leica brand. Prior to her appointment to this new position, she held managerial responsibility for Campaign Management (Product) and CRM and was assistant manager for the Marketing division. Her duties in these functions included the development of the international communication strategy for all Leica products, as well as controlling and the management of specialist disciplines for holistic implementation.

Her professional expertise is supplemented by many years of experience in the marketing and communication segments. Prior to this, Sandra Sczesny held the position of European Marketing Communication Manager for Aftersales at GM Europe GmbH in Rüsselsheim and was responsible for managing pan-European communication for the Opel, Chevrolet and Saab brands. Prior to this, in her role as Director for Global Marketing, she held responsibility for global marketing communication, brand management and corporate communication at Dematic GmbH in Offenbach (formerly Siemens L&A) and occupied a position with similar functions and responsibilities in the automotive segment at Siemens VDO AG.
